Pupils with Disabilities
We are an inclusive school and are committed to ensuring that no child is treated less favourably because of a disability. We welcome applications from pupils with disabilities and work closely with families to ensure that each child is able to access education, school life and opportunities alongside their peers.
In line with the Equality Act 2010, we take active steps to prevent discrimination and to promote equality of opportunity for pupils with disabilities. This includes:
- Making reasonable adjustments to the curriculum, teaching approaches and learning environment to meet individual needs
- Providing additional support, resources or equipment where required
- Ensuring staff are aware of pupils’ needs and receive appropriate training to support inclusion
- Considering accessibility when planning trips, events and extracurricular activities so all pupils can participate
- Working in partnership with parents, carers and external professionals to support pupils effectively
Our school environment is regularly reviewed to identify and remove barriers to learning where possible. Where physical or practical barriers exist, we will work with families to explore reasonable solutions.
Admission arrangements for pupils with disabilities are considered on an individual basis, and parents are encouraged to contact the school to discuss their child’s needs at any stage of the admissions process. Our aim is to ensure that every child feels safe, valued and able to achieve their full potential.
