Sports Premium

At Rossington St Michael’s, we believe that physical education plays a vital role in a child’s overall educational, physical and emotional development. We fully support the government’s initiatives to tackle obesity and to inspire children to enjoy an active lifestyle.

Through PE and sport, our children develop key qualities such as resilience, effective communication, a positive attitude, motivation and improved self-esteem.

We are committed to delivering high-quality PE lessons alongside a broad range of opportunities that motivate and inspire every child to take pride in their learning. Our curriculum encourages children to develop leadership, coaching, and officiating skills, empowering them to become ambassadors of sport and teamwork.

In addition, we participate in the Doncaster DSAT schools’ Festivals Package, which offers our pupils the chance to compete in a variety of sports throughout the year alongside other local schools in our Trust, promoting a healthy competitive spirit and community engagement.

Our PE and Sport Premium funding, provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health, and Culture, Media and Sport, is allocated based on the number of primary-aged pupils. For this academic year, Rossington St Michael’s has been awarded £18,930.
